The Palau de la Música Catalana celebrates its Open Day on Sunday, November 24th

This year the day is dedicated to Clavé XXI, the social program of the Palau that promotes, through choral singing, the social inclusion of children and young people

On Sunday, November 24th , the Palau de la Música Catalana will celebrate its  traditional Open Day from 10am to 3pm . This event is open to the general public, to enjoy the surroundings of our modernist building and World Heritage Site, and to participate in choral singing workshops. The day is celebrated around the time of the festival of Saint Cecilia, patron saint of music. This year, the #PortesObertesPalau is dedicated to Clavé XXI, the social program of the Palau de la Música Catalana which, based on choral practice, aims to promote the social inclusion of children and young people. Tickets for the day can be purchased online through the Palau website or in person at the Palau ticket office, for the nominal price of 1 euro , which will be used entirely for Clavé XXI . Also, the usual workshops will be led this year by Mariona Fernàndez and Alba Millán, conductors of the Clavé XXI choirs (Registration for workshops here ).

The Palau de la Música Catalana and the Orfeó Català open their doors to bring the marvellous architecture of our modernist temple to the whole community , but also to invite the public to have a more intense experience of the Palau through its main activity: choral singing.

On this day of celebration, for 5 hours visitors can access the Concert Hall (stage and second floor), the setting of major concerts and events; the Sala Lluís Millet , an emblematic and peaceful room on the main floor, and its balcony , will be open to participants to enjoy the garden of columns, each one different and crowned by stone capitals with floral motifs, characteristic of the the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. You can also visit the Petit Palau , the auditorium located 11 meters below where an audiovisual about Clavé XXI will be screened. Finally, the Orfeó Català Documents Centre , which houses collections of documents going back to the 12th century, will offer guided tours to small groups in its library, located on the fifth floor of the Palau.
